Electrolysis for transgender people
Hair Removal For Every Body
Electrolysis can help with permanent hair removal from face and body as well as in preparation for gender affirming surgery.
At Carolinas Electrolysis, we are happy to support all clients with their hair removal goals.
Common treatment areas are face, chest, abdomen and genitals.
Gender Affirming Surgery
If you are considering gender affirming surgery it is important to start electrolysis well in advance of your scheduled surgery date.
A MINIMUM of 12 months of consistent treatment is necessary.
With Vaginoplasty the skin of the penis and scrotum are used to make the new vagina. Hair remaining on the skin inside the new vagina can cause discomfort and possible serious infection. It’s not possible to remove hair from inside a vagina after surgery.
It is ideal to have a number of full clearances of the treatment area approximately every 4 - 6 weeks with increasing amounts of time between clearances to ensure that all the hair cycles have been treated. Keep in mind, it will most likely require multiple treatments to achieve the first full clearance.
Your electrologist will work with you to develop a treatment plan that will help you meet your goals
